A display stand to hold a collection of flower implosion marbles
The CAD model
Padouk and Maple, cut with band saw, sanded with drum sander, and glued
Segments cut on miter saw, then precisely sanded on disk sander and glued
The drum sander makes everything flat and parallel
Clamp in place for roughing
First side roughing complete
Finish with 1/4 ball end bit
First side complete
Drill some holes through the piece into the router table (probably not a good idea, need to rethink)
Pegs in the router table for alignment
Counterbore the top side, 0.010" bigger than the glass rod size
Screw through the counterbores to hold the piece in place for top side roughing
Top roughing complete
After sanding and spraying with catalyzed conversion varnish
